The app: no data collection

Thought Capsule does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app requires no account, contains no analytics or tracking, shows no advertising, and makes no network connections.

All processing happens exclusively on your Mac:

• Speech recognition: Spoken language is converted to text using the on-device models built into macOS. No audio or text is transmitted to us, to Apple, or to any third party.
• Audio: Recordings are processed transiently in memory and are never stored.
• Notes: Recognized text is saved as Markdown files in a folder you choose on your Mac. These files are yours and remain entirely under your control.

The app requests the macOS Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions. Both are used solely for the local functionality described above and can be revoked at any time in System Settings.

Since the app collects no data, there is no sharing, selling, or any other processing of personal data by us.

This website

This website is static. It uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising, and loads no content from third-party servers.

When you visit the site, the web server technically processes connection data (IP address, time of access, requested page, user agent) in server log files. This processing ensures stable and secure operation and is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Log data is not merged with other data sources and is deleted after a short period.

If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide solely to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and delete it once it is no longer needed for that purpose.

Your rights

You have the rights under Art. 15–21 GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority — for us, that is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).

Since the app collects no data whatsoever, we generally hold no personal data about you to which these rights could apply.
